One famous quote from Confucius is and I quote “Find a job you enjoy, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I believe this quote because when you do a job you love and have passion for, you will not feel much stress while doing the job. Often times I have thought about something. Whenever people dance to a favorite music, they can dance from minutes to hours continuously. We all know that working out daily can be so difficult to observe. But if you have to dance every day, you will do so gladly. The good thing is that dancing is a very good form of exercise but it’s rather a fun filled exercise. Just like doing a dream job, you will do dancing willingly.
Please don’t consider a dream job to be a kind of job that will only pay you a high amount of salary but a job that will both pay you a high amount of salary and then you will also be fulfilled being in the field of work. But to tell you the gospel truth, a lot of people don’t even know the kind of job they have passion for. I say this because people searching for jobs are more only oriented in finding jobs that pay good money rather than jobs that gives them satisfaction as per the passion they have for it. The excuse we usually complain about is that the job we have passion for doesn’t pay good money and that we need money to deal with consistent financial challenges.
Well I have a good news! You can find both your dream job and still get paid well for it. Why am I saying this? Ten years ago, I was employed to work with a renowned chemical products manufacturing company as a graduate trainee. I felt very good that I got this job especially because I had a lot of my friends still searching for jobs. They would do any work so far they were paid good money. But I was rather fortunate because I did not only get to start working but I would be working in a big company that even experienced workers would crave to work in. I resumed to work and started enjoying my work and the money.
Though from a tender age, I had a passion to work in an Engineering field but I felt it wasn’t bad after all for me to work in a chemical processing company as a process operator. After some couple of months I started becoming uncomfortable with the job because it was monotonous. I was doing the same thing over and over again, day in day out. I didn’t feel challenged at all. I suddenly started reminiscing back on my passion. I remembered when I had the passion to be one the best engineers to be reckoned with. I then decided that I would not give up my ambitions to be who wanted to be. I didn’t quit my job but I took an extra sacrifice by enrolling for trainings with regards to the engineering field which I had passion for.
I enrolled for three different programs and started my classes after two months of enrollment. Please note it is a gradual process. I took courses on computer networking, Safety and project manager and within 12 months I was done. Before one of my final exams, I applied for a job with two big companies but this time around in the engineering field.
I was called 2 months after my exam for job interview by one of the companies. I went for the interview and did very well. Then I was employed and given a good salary and fantastic benefits. You don’t need to wait and wait to get a dream job. Go for the job with a technique or strategy like my own testimony.
Continue with the one you have now and upgrade yourself in preparation for the bigger job and most importantly a job of you desire and passion. Another advantage I gained was that I used some of the knowledge I gained from the previous job to advance in my current job now. I indeed apply some of the old ideas in the new company.
